Using tools is a matter of course for professional translators.

Chris Translation Service Co. uses different kinds of translation support tools and works under a systematic check system in order to work efficiently and improve translation quality. However, using such tools is a matter of course for professional translators. I think that close collaboration between staff members involved is the greatest value that we can be proud of. To localize a product, we may have to translate as many as several million words. Obviously, this much volume cannot be translated by a single translator. Even if a good translator is included in such a large project team, the skill level of the entire team may be low. To improve translation quality, translators and editors with excellent skills and with expertise in a certain field have to give helpful information or knowhow to the entire team and share such information with each other.

Translation is similar to cooking, using different tastes and ingenuities as ingredients

A localization project team includes editors who also have considerable experience as system engineers. They actually operate the software to be localized to check the product closely and collect necessary information on their own and give feedback to staff members.

Sue (Quality Assurance Specialist)

I take advantage of years of experience in translation of publications in order for the entire team to produce easy-to-read translations. Close collaboration between team members is already a big part of our company culture.

I think that translation is a service business. A translator is similar to a chef. A dish is a work containing different tastes and ingenuities as ingredients, but a chef cannot fall into self-satisfaction and complacency. Similarly, we cannot assume that we did excellent jobs until our corporate customers and end users are completely satisfied with them.

For this reason, we would like customers to explain their needs in detail. For example, a customer may want us to strictly translate word for word, and another customer may want us to provide reader-friendly, casual translations. It is our pleasure to respond to these customer needs.
